Heifer Project - The Sunday School sponsors an annual Heifer Market to raise funds for the Heifer Project. The money raised for the Heifer Project helps low-income people in the U.S. and around the world become more self-sufficient. The animals become a source of sustainable income for a family, and this family passes on the gift by giving one or more offspring to another family in need. Heifer project animals have been sent to families in 115 different countries since the start of the Heifer project more than 50 years ago. Because of your support, additional families will enjoy better health, more income and the joy of helping others.

Our Mission
Newport United Methodist Church is people of God dedicated to following the teaching of Jesus because we want to set an example so that we and others can grow in our faith.
Our Beliefs
We believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and pledge allegiance to his kingdom.
We profess the Christian faith as contained in the Old and New Testaments.
We promise to live a Christian life and remain faithful members of the church.
We pledge to be loyal to the United Methodist Church and support it with our prayers, presence, gifts and service.
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, recommended four main guidelines or sources to be used in determining our beliefs and decisions:
Scripture - the primary source and guideline for Christian teaching.
Tradition - the ever-renewed understandings of the faith community down through the ages.
Experience - the personal experience of God's healing love and gift of new life in Christ.
Reason - using our ability to analyze, compare, and come to sound judgments.
Some of the Friendship Dinner people - a monthly rotating gathering for meals and freindship in homes
